When inaugurating the new theatrical season with 'The Maltese Swingers' the Mediterranean Conference Centre will be making its own contribution to the countless of ways one may go about 'swinging in the New Year'.
To help both the experienced and the initiate swinger warm up to the task, renowned Mro Sigmund Mifsud has assembled a 36 piece orchestra, versatile singers Daniel Cauchi and Luisana Bartolo, the Electro Swing Band, a strong troupe of backing vocals and a host of popular DJ's, thus creating an amazing sound which has to be experienced, rather than described.
This very latest of a musical craze that is sweeping the sophisticated halls of Europe and the States, combining the evolvement of the big-band idiom fashioned by the likes of Duke Ellington and others of the 30s and 40s with contemporary electronic-jazz-hip-rock sounds, will hit the local MCC boards on Friday 30th January at 2015 at 20.00 hrs.
