Hotel description
The hotel is a jewel of classical and historical value, and has a rich history dating
back to the golden era of the 19th Century. Established in 1865, the hotel has an
architectural influence of the high Victorian period. At that time Malta was a British
colony and many people started imitating British lifestyles, including building stately
homes according to British architectural design. This air-conditioned hotel offers 95
comfortable and spacious bedrooms and provides guests facilities including a reception
lobby with 24-reception, a cloakroom, lift access, and a lounge bar (seasonal), Pool
snack bar (seasonal) and restaurant. A TV room, conference facilities, Internet access,
a garage and parking facilities, including space for storing bicycles, also feature. For

Location
The hotel is located within 5 minutes of both the sea and the town of Sliema, which
offers bars, restaurants and a great shopping centre. Nearby guests can also experience
some great views of the Marsamxett Harbour, with its picturesque Manoel Island and
an imposing Valletta as a backdrop. The town of Mdina can be reached in 40 minutes
by public transport. The nearest public transport connection is 3 m from the hotel and
Malta International Airport is just 10 km away.

The rooms have been especially designed for the traveller who enjoys resting after
a full day of activities. All rooms are furnished with an en suite bathroom with a
bathtub/shower, a hairdryer, (deposit) air-conditioning and heating units which can
be individually regulated, a direct dial telephone, a radio and basic cable TV. Tea and
coffee making facilities are free of charge on board basis, an iron and ironing (at a
charge), double beds and a hire safe also feature. Most rooms have a lovely view of the
hotel’s internal gardens and swimming pool, or else overlook the streets of Sliema.

Malta International Airport (MLA): Approximate driving time to the Imperial Hotel
is 45 minutes and distance is 20 kilometres (12 miles). Getting there: A fixed rate taxi
service operates from the airport to towns all over the island. A taxi desk is located
in the Arrivals hall where pre-paid tickets may be purchased. Getting around: Malta
has a network of buses connecting the main resorts. A car is useful for exploring the
less touristy areas of the island. Gozo can be explored on foot, by bicycle, or using the
island?s network of buses. There are ferries services from Gozo to Malta (Valletta).
