- A consultation asking questions about your current symptoms and your medical history, as well as such things as your sleeping pattern, your appetite and digestion, and your emotional well being. Women are also asked about their menstrual cycle and any past pregnancies and childbirth. This is to know which points to target.
- Each point is then cleaned with an alcohol swab and the fine sterile disposable acupuncture needle is inserted. Acupuncture needles commonly remain in place for fifteen to forty minutes depending on the acupuncture treatment. Care is taken to ensure that the client is neither too hot nor too cold while resting. Clients are always attended to during through the acupuncture treatment to make sure they are comfortable. - Acupuncture needles are extremely fine, and for this reason needle insertion is practically painless. Most probably you won’t feel a thing.
