Pigments are applied using a needle or blade, also known as cosmetic tattooing. Gradually fades depending on factors such as age, uv exposure & skin care; touch-ups can rectify this.
Lip blushing is a new trend that's generating a lot of interest. It's a semi-permanent tattoo, usually in a natural color, that's applied to your lips. It can give your appearance a boost and help fix imbalances and cover signs of aging in the lips. Lip blushing isn't lip filler.
Using cutting edge tools and techniques, a fine pigment is applied to the areas in between the lashes top and bottom, giving a hint of permanent eyeliner without the obvious line. This technique does not require a template to be pre-drawn, since we work only on the eyelash line.
SPMU generally lasts from 12-24 months – so you are not making a lifelong commitment! Generally speaking, those who choose this route are very certain that they will be happy with the look for another two years because they have been applying it the same way every day for a long time and now want a more long lasting solution.
How long does the treatment take?
Initial treatment lasts 1-2 hours for eyebrow and eyeliner treatments and may take up to 3 hours for lip treatment, but this is only for initial treatment which includes consultation, predrawing eyebrows or lips.
What happens at sessions?
The first session includes a consultation to discuss desired shape, thickness and colour of the brows. Therapist will then match pigment with client's natural skin shade and hair colour to achieve a more natural look.
What about recovery?
Clients are likely to experience minor swelling of the treated area, which should fade over the following one or two days. The area will also look darker in colour immediately afterwards, with final results taking a few days to appear.
Will it hurt?
This is the most popular question we get asked. We do all we can to minimise any discomfort during the treatment, and use of pre treatment anaesthetic as well as during the treatment. You will also be advised on how to prepare for the treatment before your scheduled appointment. (i.e do not consume caffeine at least 2 hours before treatment and no alcohol at least 24 hours before treatment)
Will it ever need to be retouched?
-Yes, absolutely. A second treatment will need to be carried out 4 to 8 weeks after the initial treatment, after this, most people come in 1-3 years for a refresh.
Lighter colours fade faster so if you are blonde or your skin is oily/combined your retouches will generally be annually or within a year. The warm and light molecules of colour will fade first.
Aftercare
After getting semi permanent makeup, it is important to follow certain aftercare guidelines in order to promote healing and the longevity of your new look. These may include avoiding certain activities (like swimming or excessive sweating), avoiding direct sunlight, and keeping the area clean and moisturized.
